WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE
Since the club was chartered by the International Association of Lions Clubs on April 26, 1923 as the Lions Club of Tucson, Arizona, the Tucson Downtown Lions Club (TDLC) has served the less fortunate in Tucson, the State of Arizona, the nation, and the world through its fundraising and community service projects.
TDLC has and continues to support many organizations in Tucson including the University of Arizona Ophthalmology Clinic, SAAVI, ASDB, Sun Sounds of Arizona, Davidson School, and others. In addition to these, the club raises funds to directly provide sight and hearing services to those unable to afford them. These include eye examinations, eyeglasses, and hearing devices.
The clubs main fundraiser is the food and beverage concessions at the Tucson Rodeo held each February. The Club also conducts an annual White Cane Fund drive during the month of January. TDLC is a 501.3c non-profit corporation, therefore, your donations to club charities are tax deductible.
Club members are service minded men and women who strive to improve our community, the state, and the world. We work without monetary compensation to raise funds and conduct projects to improve our community.
With our continuing membership growth and leadership development, we strive to remain the leader in community service in Tucson.

CURRENT CLUB NEWS
April 18-19 - MD-21B Convention VDG Tom Spering from the Sierra Vista Lions Club was elected District Governor for Lions Year 2008-2009. Tucson Downtown Lions Club's own ZC Su-Lin Trepanitis was elected to Vice District Governor for Lions Year 2008-2009. CONGRATULATIONS DG ELECT TOM and VDG ELECT SU-LIN ! Assuming her election to District Governor next year, VDG Elect Su-Lin will be the eighth Tucson Downtown Lions CLub member to hold that office.
April 24, 2008 TDLC's 85th Anniversary Celebration - The theme for the evening was the " Roaring 20s" and many of the attendees dressed in costumes of the period. There was music from the 20's provided by DJ Dean Wilson to put participants in the proper mood. PID Lions Year.

There were no additional nominations from the floor and a motion to accept the nominations passed unanimously.
Election of officers will be held at the March 20, 2008 membership meeting.
March 20, 2008 Membership Meeting - The election of club officers and directors for the 2008/2009 Lions year was held. The slate of officers and directors nominated at the March 6 membership meeting were elected. Congratulations to the new board!.
District Governor Forrest Cheuvront, Jr. and his wife Bonnie were our guests on this occasion of his annual visitation to the club. In addition to speaking to the club, Governor Forrest inducted new members, Dr. Brent Hartzell and Will Bond, into the club. Congratulations and welcome, Lions Brent and Will.
